Our Story
Super Badass Records studios was founded in May 2024 by Ugandan artist and producer Sasha Semaganda, who returned to Kampala from Texas after 2 years with a vision to create a space where new wave music could thrive.
Although the studio officially launched in 2024, the journey began years earlier, when Sasha started making music in Kampala and later saving up to buy music equipment and then producing music while living in his apartment in Houston while working in an Nigerian restaurant. With a deep love for creating, the goal was always to discover new sounds in music promote quality, authenticity and creativity.
Music has always been a part of Sasha's life. Growing up, he was immersed in the diverse music collection by his father, a vinyl enthusiast, gathered throughout the years (from the '80s onward). The studio's walls are lined with those same records, a constant reminder of the roots and passion that fuel the work today.
More than just a small home studio in Kansanga, Super Badass Records has quickly become a hub for artists to explore and create their own unique sounds. At Super Badass Records, we're dedicated to providing an environment where music flows freely, creativity is encouraged, and artists have the space they need to grow.
